Miguel Garcia Arroyo, Men's Swimming & Diving, Freshman

Garcia Arroyo had an oustanding showing at the 2019 GMAC/MEC Championships from Wednesday to Saturday, winning four individual titles and one relay title en route to a second-place team finish. The freshman was also named the conference Freshman of the Year and Swimmer of the Year.

Garcia Arroyo set new GMAC records and hit NCAA 'B' cut marks while winning both the 200 IM (1:49.73) and 400 IM (4:00.31). He also won the 100 Fly with a time of 49.74 and the 200 Fly in 1:50.92. For his final first-place finish, Garcia Arroyo teamed up with Yun Hung Tan, Nick De Robles, and Jonah Sumfleth to win the 400 Free Relay in a conference record time of 3:05.29.

He also competed in two other relays, the 200 Medley and 800 Free, with the Dragons placing second in both events.
